Muaither Sports Club’s first football team suffered a 1–0 defeat against Mesaimeer in their opening match of the 2026–2027 Jetur League season, held at Thani Bin Jassim Stadium.
The match was evenly contested between the two sides, with the first half ending goalless. Muaither made several attempts to threaten Mesaimeer’s goal and created a number of attacking opportunities.
In the second half, Muaither continued pushing for the opening goal and created several chances but were unable to convert them. The team reached the opponent’s goal on several occasions, registering nine shots, seven of which were on target.
In the closing stages of the match, Mesaimeer scored the only goal of the game in the 86th minute, putting Muaither under pressure as they searched for an equaliser.
In the 89th minute, Muaither player Abdulrahman Mujahid Al-Salahi was shown a red card, forcing the team to complete the remaining minutes with ten players before the match ended in a 1–0 victory for Mesaimeer.
Muaither will now look to move past the opening-round result, focus on the upcoming fixture, correct the mistakes from this match, and improve their efficiency in converting chances in the matches ahead.
