Our first football team achieved victory over Mesaimeer Club with two goals to none, in a match held this evening at Saud bin Abdulrahman Stadium at Al Wakra Club, as part of the third week of the Second Division Cup competitions, where Amjad Salah and Munqidh Mohammed Jihad Adi scored our team’s goals, and with this victory our team raised its score to five points in the group.
The match started strongly between the two teams, with a real desire to score the first goals, but without any real danger to either goalkeeper.
Our team threatened Mesaimeer’s goal with a first opportunity from a cross by Fouad Hanfouk into Mesaimeer’s penalty box, which Amjad Salah met with a shot, but it went next to the post.
Our team continued their attempts to score the first goal and a chance arose for the keeper Mohammed Jihad Adi who shot a low ball from inside the box that passed next to the post of goalkeeper Ahmed Sabry, then a new opportunity followed from a shot by Talal Munir who shot a powerful ball that was pushed away by the Mesaimeer goalkeeper for a corner, and the attacks continued and this time an opportunity for our team was wasted by the keeper Mohammed Jihad after receiving a cross from Talal Munir but his shot went over the post of the Mesaimeer goalkeeper.
In the 42nd minute, our player Mariano Vasquez missed the opportunity to advance after he wasted a clear one-on-one with Mesaimeer goalkeeper Ahmed Sabry, after he strangely shot the ball next to the post.
The first half ended in a goalless draw between the two teams, and in the first half our team wasted several opportunities.
The second half started strongly for our team, as Amjad Salah managed to score the first goal in the 47th minute after receiving a pass from Talal Munir to be alone with Mesaimeer goalkeeper Ahmed Sabry and put the ball in the net, making the score a goal for Muaither and nothing for Mesaimeer.
After our team scored the first goal, it became the best team in the match and the team began to control the ball and attack Mesaimeer’s goal in search of strengthening the score with a second goal.
In the 62nd minute, our team made its first substitution with Talal Munir leaving due to injury, and Abdul Aziz Adel entered instead of him.
Our team strengthened the score with a second goal through Munqidh Muhammad Jihad Adi in the 68th minute, after receiving a pass from Mariano Vasquez inside the Mesaimeer penalty box to be in a one-on-one position and put the ball in Mesaimeer’s net, making the score two goals for our team and nothing for Mesaimeer.
A second substitution for our team in the 74th minute with Youssef Sabry Al-Yahri leaving and Saad Al-Suwan entering to strengthen the defensive midfield.
Mesaimeer threatened our team’s goal twice through its striker Axel Ndong, but our team’s goalkeeper Majed Abdul Latif was able to ward off the danger.
As the minutes passed, the pace of the match calmed down a bit between the two teams, without any attacks on either goalkeeper.
